I know St. Patrick’s day is just another over marketed holiday in the U.S. But…it reminds me of a few things like my love for green AND my ancestors! If the red hair and blue eyes didn’t give it all away…let it be known the Paddy don’t start till I walk in 😘
That being said, rather than guzzling Guinness by the pint…my annual tradition is to make my infamous Green Monster Smoothie. A combination of my favorite greens and luck, I first mixed this one together way back in the day.
Some reactions I’ve heard from others witnessing me indulge include “WHAT are you drinking…” “EWWWW what is that!?”….and so on. Although not up my ancestors alley, my hope is that this health and wellness movement will sustain itself to create new traditions for generations to come. But it all starts with you.
Cheers to you all of my Irish and non-Irish neighbors alike!
