Facts about Strawberries
Fun:
A berry has its seeds on the inside. Since the seeds are on the outside, strawberries aren’t true berries, like blueberries or grapes. Each seed is considered by botanists to be its own separate fruit.
Health:
Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C and manganese and also contain decent amounts of folate (vitamin B9) and potassium.

Strawberry & Avocado Salad + Basil Vinaigrette
Equipment
- Blender/Food Processor
Ingredients
For the Salad:
- Spinach
- 1/2 Avocado (sliced or cubed)
- 4-5 Strawberries (sliced)
- Almonds (slivered)
For the Basil Vinaigrette:
- 1 Cup Basil (fresh)
- 1/2 Cup EVOO
- 1/2 Shallot
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 3 Tbsp White Wine Vinegar
- 1 Tbsp Agave
- Red Pepper Flakes
- Salt & Pepper
Instructions
- Start by making the vinaigrette – add all ingredients to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth!
- Build the salad starting with the greens and adding all the toppings!
- Finish with the Basil Vinaigrette!
