My journey has been far from linear…and I’d like to keep it that way.
I spent the first 17 years of my life training as a professional dancer. After finishing my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Florida, I came to a screeching halt without any sense of direction. Dance will always resonate deep within my bones, but the chronic injuries and pain forced me to turnaround and head in the other direction.
Thankfully, I hitched a ride with an office job and was soon thereafter in for a good, long road trip to explore other interests and talents. Fast forward 10 years, an MBA and quite a few job titles later, I’m no stranger any more.
Sitting in a passenger seat however, was a rough transition. Moving while stationary, as I remember, was such a stark contrast to my previous life as a mover.
So, the first route I proposed was yoga and I found my practice. It healed me. It grounded me. And it will forever inspire me to go deeper.
My day-to-day life has always revolved around food. My next meal is always well thought out in advance, but I was naive to the true value of food and its intention. While juggling a full-time job and part-time Master’s program, I inadvertently became a vegetarian. The more vegetables I ate, the better I felt, and it got me curious. Queue route number two: a plant-based diet.
When I should have been researching business principles and strategies, I was staring off into the open road of food. After watching What the Health on Netflix, a plant-based diet started as a test to myself to see if I “could”, and I still am. Plant-based became a lifestyle, and for me, much different than vegan. It is rooted in the sustainable, nutritional value of plants rather than alternatives. I gained my sense of direction from valuing plants as our organic fuel source rather than just avoiding animal products.

Yoga and plants completely changed the way I live my life. Like I said, I’ve been all over the map. Lettuce bow and say merges all of my passions, teachings and experiences into a holistic approach to health and wellness. And I’m ready to share it with you.
